Tom McGurrin: Precious & Precise

    Tom’s approach to jewelry design stems from traditional
metalsmithing methods but with a twist – using silver and high
karat gold as his medium.

    His work is completely hand fabricated and meticulously designed. Combining sterling silver with 22k gold, McGurrin creates subtle contrasts of color, texture and form. Surfaces are finished by various techniques: they are printed, sanded, brushed and often oxidized. Fold forming and die forming give volume to the shapes. A final brushing gives the work its rich, velvety appearance. Fine Art jewelry at its best. The devil is in the details!
